Rex,
If refractory mortar is based only on lime as agent it'll cope with heat well, but lime fluxes the mortar needs extra ingredients. Go to building details pages and reach the refractory mortars in the text, then click for sub ling on this subject for more. You have recipes in there. There are more types of very good recipes; I will be gradually adding them to site's pages now in southern hemisphere summer. r
