Jerry, I knew I have a photo on this on firewood amount ... link is below and here is description:
Some moments before the fire was lighten up in the oven, shortly after friends arrived. See the firewood laying on the ground? For single time cooking and heating up the oven to pizza temperature it would be much too big amount, from this particular day there was third of this amount still left for another firing.
I use only hard wood, plenty of that over here, it's very good as it burns and gives heat energy out slowly. No need to create big fires energy would just be wasted. The oven heats up to white hot color inside for pizzas (carbon burn off) in under one and half hour, you can keep little fire in for making pizzas as long as you like. Then you can do big or small roasts and bake reloading breads for hours.
I work remotely for last 2 weeks, at times re: to postings gets delayed. r
