Before making any big changes try extending the chimney another 4 to 6 feet.
Regular stove pipe will do the trick. A pizza oven is built a lot like a conventional fireplace, and the only way to keep a fireplace from smoking up a house is to have a lot of draft - by a way of a tall chimney. Cannot hurt at all.
