Glass factory firebricks were used for building this oven
Hi Rado have completed our oven. The fire-bricks which we used are heavy duty, they have 40 number stamped on them whatever that means. Perhaps 40 percent in alumina content. The fire-bricks are the same as a glass factory use, an industrial product. For the outside walls we used the evergreen always nice red clay house bricks.
We build the barrel shaped wood oven it looks absolutely brilliant and very classy my husband has wanted to build one for such a long time but was not keen on dome shape and we found your sight on the net and were blown away by your designs.
And we have also worked out pretty quickly how to fire it up properly as to reach the complete heat up with the carbon burn off temperature everywhere in the oven.
Thanks heaps for your fantastic CD.
As can be seen on this photograph we attached the Dragonfly art work on the chimney which we also extended higher to reach out over the roof.
We finished building our oven already in 2009 and now came the time when my husband wants to build an igloo type oven also for our brother-in-law. He will be limited on space there with this project, so I was wondering do you have any plans for building a spherical igloo shaped pizza oven which is smaller in the footprint?
With the regards,
