Wood fired brick oven workshop with Mr. Alan Scott in South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The dates are the 2nd too 5th of December 2005. See you there. More details below ...

..:: All fired up about bread ovens ::..

Alan Scott is living his dream to help others bake beautiful bread on a local level. He designs and helps to build artisan ovens that are incredibly energy efficient and versatile. The principle is retained heat. Thermal mass stores the heat of the wood fire which is raked out before the bread is cooked. Staying hot for hours, many batches can be produced in a relatively small oven.

Sharing his knowledge has help fuel a renaissance of authentic baking. Conducting oven raising workshops all over the world, imparting skills and a sense of collaborative endeavour as Alan empowers participants to build their own. Plans and consultancy are available (www.ovencrafters.net)

An 6 x 4 brick oven raising is being help at Loch in South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia with Alan Scott in early December (2-5). A small commercial oven is to be built on a farm near the township. The workshop cost is $400 including all meals. For enquiries please phone Marli (03) 56 59 4462
