The Swishy plans include an ash dump - you can find it in some of the pictures in my building log, if you want to see it before the Cd's arrive... (E.g. in the last picture from 20-Oct-2005, you can see the ash dump in the middle of the view down the chimney.)
I actually do not use the ash dump and I intend to install a (removable) blockage to prevent embers to fall through the ash dump by accident.
