I think Winefred is referring to Limestone Screenings. In this part of Canada (Ontario) we use small chips of limestone a mix from 0.5 milimeter to about 3.0 mil in diameter which are then compacted. we use this for a base under interlocking brick or for pathways or driveways. the limestone hich is a soft stone forms a very hard surface and over time is quite hard
